Terms of Service

We may revise these Terms by posting a new version with an updated date. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. We may notify account holders of material changes by email.

You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding contract. You may not use the Services if you are located in a U.S. embargoed country or are a prohibited party under U.S. trade rules. The Services are built for business use.

You must provide accurate information and keep your email and phone current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for protecting credentials. The product requires phone verification. Notify support@getcoffr.com of unauthorized use. We may suspend accounts that appear compromised or that violate these Terms.

You agree to receive operational notices by email, in-product message, SMS, or RCS at the contacts you provide. Transactional messages include verification codes and transfer alerts (share or request sent, viewed, declined, revoked, fulfilled, rejected, and reminders). Those messages do not include raw bank numbers. Marketing email is optional and uses unsubscribe. For SMS or RCS, reply STOP to opt out of transfer notifications, START to resume, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. We are not responsible for carrier delivery failures.

Some features require identity verification through Persona. You authorize Coffr and Persona to collect and check the documents you submit. False or stolen identity information is grounds for immediate suspension.

We use Plaid and, where offered, micro-deposits to confirm account ownership. You authorize those test credits or debits. You may share verified details only with people you choose through the Services. You are responsible for the accuracy of accounts you add and for who you authorize.

Shares and requests create time-limited links. You must only send them to intended recipients. Recipients may need to verify a phone number before viewing. You can revoke a share subject to what the recipient has already viewed. Coffr does not move money and is not a bank, money transmitter, or payment processor for your wires or ACH credits.

Verified events may be hashed and written to Hedera. Hashes are public and permanent. They do not contain raw account numbers. You acknowledge we cannot erase a ledger record.

You will not: break the law; impersonate others; attempt to access another account or decrypt data you were not given; scrape or overload the Services; reverse engineer the software except as law allows; interfere with blockchain records; or use the Services to commit or conceal fraud. We may suspend or terminate for violations.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis. Fees are non-refundable except where law requires. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. We may change prices with 30 days' notice to the account email. Usage limits on free or trial access are described in the product.

The Site, Services, software, design, and Coffr marks are owned by Coffr, LLC or its licensors. We grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for your internal business purposes. You keep ownership of the data you submit. You grant us a license to host and process that data solely to provide the Services.

Use is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

The Services depend on Auth0, AWS, Plaid, Persona, Twilio, Stripe, Hedera, and similar providers. Their terms and outages are outside our control. Your use of their widgets (for example Plaid Link) is also subject to their terms.

THE SITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that verification will detect every fraudulent account or that the Services will be uninterrupted.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COFFR IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR LOST FUNDS SENT TO THE WRONG ACCOUNT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits.

You will indemnify Coffr and its officers, directors, and employees against claims arising from your use of the Services, your content, your shares or requests, or your violation of these Terms or law.

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access with or without notice if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. Sections that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) survive.

Texas law governs, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association in Austin, Texas, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP or unauthorized access. You waive class actions and class arbitration. If a court finds the class waiver unenforceable, that claim proceeds in court, not arbitration.
