About Coffr
We read the case files nobody sends you.
Coffr is focused on one narrow problem: the unprotected exchange of bank details that sits underneath nearly every B2B payment.
Every year, businesses lose billions of dollars to a single failure mode. A finance team receives an email, from a real vendor, or one that looks close enough, with new bank details. They update the record. The next invoice pays a stranger.
The mechanism is not sophisticated. It works because the layer underneath it, how two companies exchange the numbers that route a payment, was never designed to be verified. Voided checks travel as PDF attachments. Routing numbers get pasted into email bodies. There is no signature, no provenance, no way for the receiving side to prove what was sent.
Coffr is that missing layer. We verify the people, accounts, and bank details behind every ACH and wire instruction before a payment goes out, backed by $5M in fraud protection. The case files above aren't marketing copy, they're the reason this company exists. This site will keep publishing the research behind them.
How we work
Three rules we refuse to break.
Independent research, cited sources.
Every number we publish traces back to a public report, FBI IC3, AFP, FinCEN, Nacha. If we don't have a source, we don't publish it.
Narrow focus, honest scope.
We only write about what we study. We don't have hot takes on unrelated fintech. We're not a general security blog.
Product-first, marketing-second.
Every claim on this site is grounded in the same research standard as our published work, not built to make a launch look bigger than it is.
